From Posture Monitoring to Virtual Physical Therapy
This project began with a different product: a live posture correction desktop app. While supporting its development, we noticed that users were seeking more than posture reminders—they were experiencing recurring pain and looking for recovery support.
This insight, backed by user behavior and feedback, led the company to collaborate with physical therapy clinics to validate a new product direction. The result was the birth of a virtual physical therapy app aimed at helping users continue their rehab journey at home.
My Role: UX/UI Design Collaboration & Iteration
As the UX/UI Designer, I collaborated closely with my project supervisor (Senior UX Designer) throughout the product design process. My responsibilities included:
- Designing user flows, wireframes, and low-to-high fidelity prototypes for the app experience.
- Focusing on interactive guidance, progress tracking, and ensuring the interface was intuitive for users of different ages.
- Iterating designs based on internal feedback and usability concerns, working in sync with the project supervisor and developers.
Our design centered around creating an engaging, structured rehab experience while keeping the interface simple enough for users to follow independently.
Outcome: A New Digital Rehab Experience
By pivoting from a posture monitoring tool to a full virtual therapy platform, the company addressed a deeper user need and positioned itself to support home-based physical recovery. This experience deepened my understanding of how user needs and strategic collaboration can transform product direction, and reinforced the value of teamwork, iteration, and clarity in UX design.
